Vallum, a Celtic Hero of Hibernia. Medium portrait, inked with rapidographs and colored in P/7. The original resolution on the character portion is 1200x1200 pixels. This piece is designed to be cropped and the face used as a message board avatar that can be linked to the larger image. The border helps make this a nice print at either 4X5 or 8X10 inches.

The idea here was to portray a careworn hero, well past his so-called "prime" years, who'd seen many battles during his lifetime but was still prepared to face whatever lay ahead. I have to thank my loving husband for repeatedly furrowing his brow for me so I could get the look just right. I especially like the eyes, which I colored specifically to match those of the person to whom the character belongs.
